From the large phones of yesterday, the world is now entertaining the slimmest, lightest, smallest, and cutest of all mobile phones from different manufacturers. So what’s next? Get ready for the latest concept cell phone designs that will bring a ‘WOW’ on your face.

One of the amazing cell phone concepts is the Ply design. It is a mobile phone made up of several layers of plywood. Each layer of ply will provide the user a different function such as photo printer, game controller, digital projector, and the like.

Another equally amazing concept is the Leaf design. The design resembles much of a leaf during spring. The phone is made up of eco-friendly plastics and displays OLED. This is one of the mobile phone concepts that inject a very futuristic look to cellular phones.

There is also the Maple cell phone concept. This is a camera phone that is encased in a very thin wood film. The buttons are touch sensitive and automatically light up whenever the surface is touched.

Moreover, there is the Nokia 888 concept. This phone was designed for the Nokia Benelux Open Design Awards. It has a malleable interface, which makes the phone possible to be bent, wrapped, and twisted that is almost similar to that of a wristband.

There are a lot of other future designs of mobile phones being brainstormed in the world of electronics these days. Indeed, the future of the cellular phone industry is clear. In the coming years, the world will be welcoming amazing, creative, and magnificent cell phone designs that every person in the world will look up to.

During these moments when technological advancement is on the peak, it is very likely for people to possess different “gadgets” with them. Next to cell phone, folks surely own digital camera. Since these cameras are great help to preserve your memories, it is just sensible to properly take care of them. This is particularly true if you wish to get away from the hassle of dealing with untimely replacements.

First of all, consider purchasing a durable and water-proof model. This is why the quality should always outshine the quantity. Do not grab a model just because it is cheap; opt for one because you know it will last for a long time. Be sure to give added protection by availing of bags where you can slip your unit into. The bag will not just serve as a shelter but it is more of a protection from wide array of elements that may work to deteriorate your digital camera at a faster rate.

Check further if your unit is available with protective filters. While most of the cameras in the market are available with UV filters, it is still important to check your unit. See if it is available with this protection that can eradicate damages created by salt, sand, dust, etc. Furthermore, always ensure that your hand is clean before you use your digital camera. By doing this, you can keep the unit dirt free. Indeed, the proper care for your camera must be your number one concern as an owner.

Imagine walking into a kitchen supply store and seeing all types of wine corkscrews. I mean what’s the big deal, right? A corkscrew just needs to open that bottle of wine. True, but how you go about opening the wine is more about ease and showmanship than you can imagine. Any supermarket can carry the low priced model. These inexpensive models do last a long time. They do their job with a little more effort than expensive models, but still do their job. If you are out to impress friends and neighbors than most likely you are going to pull out a corkscrew that comes in its own storage case lined with felt. It doesn’t make the wine taste any better opening your bottle with one of these, but it will become a conversation piece for sure.

Considered to be the gold standard, the Screwpull’s LM-2000 (Elegance) Corkscrew is taunted as the one often imitated – never duplicated. Pricey at around $100 this designed beauty is not only functional its like a piece of contemporary art. It combines style with performance. For a little less money you can buy Metrokane’s Deluxe Rabbit. Made with die-cast metal gripping handles and top lever handle this sturdy models comes with a 10 year warranty. Regardless of the difference in price they all make great gifts for any wine lover.

The black cage called the Globe of Steel is pretty impressive. This sixteen foot sphere is one of the acts in Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus. How they get seven riders to sped around going as fast as 65 mph in this contraption and not crash into each other is nothing short of brilliant. Like most circus acts family is at the heart of the action and this family of motocross riders are not only talented but unique. Granted the death-defying feat takes practice to perform with precision, but to this family it’s fun.

I remember seeing a smaller version of the sphere back when I was a kid. Every year a carnival would come to my town and one of the acts was something similar but not as elaborate. Today these circus performers push the envelope. Lights dim, black lights turn on and vibrant colors of their outfits pop making the show more dramatic to the viewers. Color patterns crisscrossing so fast my eyes darted about just to keep up. All transfixed on the riders in that black steel cage which is a piece of art. These riders are artists.

How many times have you gone to the Mall and found yourself peeking into the windows only these weren’t store windows but windows belonging to a spankin’ new automobile? With sticker tags and all these new cars that were once a rarity in such a place are now common as those tiny kiosks that sell mostly small faddish trinkets that make you pause on your way to your next place to shop. So common are these now that I see less people stopping to peek these days unless it an exotic car. Mall shoppers may not be the right demographics to buy a $100,000 plus automobile so I seriously doubt to see one on display.

But the other day I saw a car next to the sushi bar at my local grocery store. The Smart car almost blended in if it were not the sold banners draped over it as if the car alone would be enough advertising for the local car dealer. Are car dealers hurtin’ so much these days that they would stick one of their own in a place of commerce? What’s next for these stores? Monster trucks.

So does it make us, as consumers want to buy a car seeing it next to the sushi counter? Maybe the salmon color paint job was instead a subliminal mention to hungry patrons to really buy sushi. I did buy the sushi so it must be so.

What is the buzz about the latest tech gadget to come out of Apple? Unless you’ve been living on Mars you would know that what I am referring to is the Apple iPad. While some see the iPad replacing the mouse, others see it as a waste of money. Here is what is being said. Warning: Some criticism may be too incidental.

Looking for a Wifi hot spot? Better bring along your iPhone unless you pay more for the basic iPad model you won’t be connected to a cellular network. Lost somewhere out on the road and need to get to a location? Again without upgrading your iPad you will get lost. Upgrade and you’ll get a GPS chip. Can’t take that cute picture of your kid with an iPad because it doesn’t come with a camera. The iPad is not a phone although you can make a call from one. Can you imagine walking down the street with the size of that baby pinned to your ear? Remember boom boxes? The weight alone will give anyone neck strain. The iPad doesn’t let you multitask so if you are a user that enjoys running multiply applications you may have to wait for the next re-design. The iPad doesn’t support Flash. Personally, this omission doesn’t bother me but to others who relish websites that feature Flash, well you’re going to be out of luck. And lastly – what about the name of the product itself? Sounds like it’s something you might find on drugstore shelf.

I remember the days when you waited in line to purchase the New York City subway token. You know the one with cut out “Y” in the center. I have fond memories of the glassed-in transit employees counting out the tokens and then sliding them forward in the metal tray toward me. I remember how the tokens sounded when you dropped one into the turnstile. But mostly I remember how much I liked to jingle these small coins in my pocket made. Today we use a card and we swipe it. It all seems so impersonal. Progress is suppose to change your life. Replacing the token with a thin credit card shape plastic is the future for now. Yet I still find it sad. I miss the token.

Gadgets come and gadgets go and this decade surely saw its share of techie toys. When was the last time you used a fax machine? When was the last time you used a phone that had a cord attached to it? During this past holiday I saw more people inside the Apple store than I did in the entire mall. Not really, but it just seemed that way. The latest Apple computer is faster easier to use and well you just feel you need to upgrade. Well maybe every two years.

That’s what the cell phone giants want you to do. Notice how their plans are for two years. Notice the competition in their ad campaigns. Notice all the various style cell phones you can now own. Phones are faster, have more bells and whistles, and once you get hooked on text messaging you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Today’s hot tech gadget is tomorrow’s old news. Look what happen to film cameras. Does anyone still have that thick Yellow Page book stuff in a drawer at home. Doubtful. Why buy a CD when you can download a song. What new surprises are in store for 2010? It will be fun to watch.

Balance boards need some getting used to so it is very possible a senior can make balance boards part of their fitness workout. Balance training for seniors is especially important to allow them to gain strength on the lower part of the body.
