Design & Innovation

We see design everywhere and in everything we look at. It does not seem to be possible to live in a world where design does not exist whether we are conscious of it or not. While design is often labored over by all types of industries and professionals who wear the hat of “designer” we think the best design is design that can be seen and understood by anyone who happens to find it.  Good design that is successful often has the ability to illicit a response or action from those that find it. Great design and designers  have the ability to take this further by being able to control the action or the response  in a specific manner so that the design takes on an energy of its own interacting with the user in a back and forth manner until a specific point, goal, or location is achieved by the design, or the designer. At this point the process has the ability to continue to the next phase starting the process over again, or repeating it in some manner for those that might need or want more.

We have observed that many examples of good design take their cue from nature and the organic world we live in especially  as of late where there seems to be more of an awareness and positioning of all types of things to a more green and sustainable world. While design is at the forefront of this it certainly is not a newcomer to the party.  Design has always always been an important part of any society and while good design is often seen as being innovative, innovation itself is not necessarily the key to good design. Just because an innovation has been added to a design does not mean that it should be seen as better than the current design or designs that are currently in use.
